Sunglassespreservation is happy to showcase another amazing pop art sunglasses design by Persona Non Grata (PNG). Model “Ronald’s resurrection” was made in 2013 as art of PNG’s flamboyant pop frenzy sunglass collection. These shades are laser cut and hand assembled by the artist. The motif of american pop culture mixed with PNG’s knowledge of geometric shapes and designs blends in perfectly within sunglassespreservation’s philosophy of extremly unique and complex sun eyewear.
“Ronald’s resurrection” sunglasses are a statement to a sort of timeless longing for perfection within a very specific frame givien exclusively by Occidental consumer society. PNG criticizes the world we live in by placing one of it’s biggest capitalist exponents on the wearers face, with the “drive-thru” arrow pointing right at the brain… this leaves much space for thought and interpretation.
Particular mention goes to PNG’s extreme sensitivity to our present time. He is constantly several steps ahead of others. In the case of Ronald’s resurrection, he single handedly preceded by more than a year Jeremy Scott’s MOSCHINO McDonalds inspired collection!
