CUTLER & GROSS model 0163 in brown turtle. This amazing evergreen has been created back in 1983 by CUTLER & GROSS and it is still in production and orderable in three colors. This model has withstood the test of time and merits to be put into the archives of sunglassespreservation.
The model we have in our archives is the original from 1983 and seems to have slightly different temples then the one on sale in stores now. The first version’s temples were straight while the online orderable version has slightly bent temples around the ears.
For a very vintage model, the quality of the plastic our archived sample has is very good. Not dry or chipped. This product truelly is good quality, hand made of Italian acetate and hand polished. The temples do not state in which country the glasses were produced but never the less, they are sturdy.
As of today, they are available in three colors on the CUTLER & GROSS website. Available in “black”, “brown turtle” and “grey horn”.
